(February 5, 1929 - July 14, 2016)

Norma Jean Wood, age 87, of Elkhart, IN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 14, 2016. She was born into this life on February 5, 1929, the daughter of Harlan and Edna (Wagner) Balsley. On December 24, 1954 she married William Lee Wood and they went on to share a life together for over 61 years. She is survived by her husband; and their beloved daughters, Sue (Rex) Freshour and Judy (Richard) Meyer both of Elkhart, IN; a grandson, Steven (Jennifer) Wolf of Elkhart, IN; and two sisters, H. Marie Shafer and Joyce Schafer both of Lakeville, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Virginia Zeiger. Norma retired as a bookkeeper after many years of service and was very talented. She had a love for sea shell crafts and oil painting. Norma also enjoyed taking part in Worship for Shut-Ins. A private family service will be held in Norma's honor with a burial to follow at Bremen Cemetery in Bremen, IN. Memorial contributions in Norma's honor may be directed to Worship for Shut-Ins, 5 Martin Luther Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
