David S. "Hector" Abbate, 48, of Pope St., Providence, RI, died April 26, 2002 at Rhode Island Hospital after an illness.
A lifelong Providence resident, he was a son of Anthony M. and Concetta (Barletta) Abbate, both of Providence. Mr. Abbate had been a chef at Mainelli's Restaurant for 30 years.
He was a graduate of Our Lady of Providence Seminary, Warwick, and a communicant of St. Teresa Church.
Besides his parents, he leaves three brothers.
