Glenda Kay Pond Abernethy, 68, of Canyon died Monday, June 13, 2016, in Amarillo.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Brooks Chapel with Nancy Biffle officiating. Graveside services will follow at 5 p.m. in Kelton Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon.

Glenda was born June 25, 1947, in Wheeler to H.D. “Teed” and Helen Whiteley Pond. She graduated from Kelton High School in 1965.

Glenda was a longtime resident of Canyon and a member of First United Methodist Church.

She was an avid Texas Rangers fan. She had a great sense of humor and loved unconditionally. Her kids, grandkids and family were her world.

She was preceded in death by her beloved twin sister, Linda Jaggard; a brother, Gary Keith Pond; her parents; and a son-in-law, Bart Thetford.

Survivors include a daughter, Karla Abernethy-Thetford of Amarillo; a son, Kyle Abernethy and wife Heather Morrison of Seattle, Wash.; her grandchildren, Jared Beatty of Seattle, Jayden Beatty of Austin, Allisha White and husband Max of Canyon, Kassandra Thetford of Dallas and Brady Thetford of Canyon; two great-grandchildren, Henry and Oliver; two sisters, Brenda Knoll of Amarillo and Sharon Tillman of Canyon; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-
nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
