BATTEN, Christine Driggs, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord May 16, 2012 in Placerville, Calif. Christine leaves behind her daughters, Marilyn Jordan Kennedy of Placerville, Suzanne Bracken of Richmond; and her many close friends and relatives.

Christine was a long-time resident of Richmond, having moved here from Nashville, Tenn., with her husband, Lee and daughters in 1959. She began working for Anderson and Strudwick the same year and retired in the mid-1990s. She was married to Lee Driggs from 1942 until his death in 1975. Christine later married Wallace Batten, and they were together 20 years before his death in 1998.

Visitation will be at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 22. Service at St Andrew's UMC, 9801 Fort King Rd., 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23. Interment will follow.
