Born July 29, 1928, in Waldron, Arkansas, Jessie was the daughter of Albert and Bertha (Smith) Martin. She married Chester Yandell in 1945 and they made their home in Olton. He preceded her in death in 1975 and she married Archie Peeples in 1977. In 1982, she moved to Lubbock and Archie preceded her in death in 2003. Jessie was a very loving and caring person. She enjoyed being outdoors with her flowers and loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be truly missed by all that knew her.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Bruce Yandell, two brothers, two sisters, and a very dear friend, David Cox.
Survivors include her son, Ron Yandell and his wife, Cora of Mineral Wells, and two daughters, Cheryl Smith and her husband, Dan of Indian Trails, N.C. and Joyce Yandell and her husband, Terry Lowe of Lubbock. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many step-children and step-grandchildren. The family would like to express special thanks to Hospice of Lubbock, Promise Land #3, and Dr. Jeremy Brown.
