From a prominent Condrad's Store (Elkton) family. He stood 5 feet six inches, had gray eyes and dark hair. He served with Company A of the 3rd Battalion, Virginia Mounted Reserves CSA. They were called Crissman's Boy Company. After the War Kite farmed, ran a sawmill and was a director of the Bank of Elkton. He never married.

(Special to News Record) Elkton, Dec. 7. — W. Edwin Kite, passed awns thig morning at 1 a.m. at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs.
Amanda Kite, of Elkton, where he had made his home since the death of his sister, Miss Mary Kite.

His death was the result of a fall last Friday, which he sustained while getting out of the automobile belonging to his nephew, Dr. W. Edgar Kite.

He is the last surviving member of a large family and a descendent of one .of the oldest families in East Rockingham. His life was such us to win a multitude of friends who will be sorry to learn of his death. He 83 years of age at the time of his death

He was the son of the late H.H. Kite and Margaret Kite and has lived at the Kite Homestead all of his life just outside of Elkton.

He served in the Confederate army, and was a member of the S. B. Gibbons camp.

His nearest relative is Mrs. Amanda Kite and her two sons, Dr. Kite, druggist of Elkton, and Dr. J. Hiram Kite, surgeon of Atlanta, Ga.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 from the home of Mrs. Amanda Kite.
