Arnold R. Ahlsted, 83, passed away December 22, 2010. He was born May 2, 1927 to the late Melba and Robert F. Ahlsted in Alexandria, Minn. His wife of 63 years, Margaret S. Ahlsted, preceded him in death. Mr. Ahlsted was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church. He retired from the U.S. Army and later retired from civil service.
Arnold is survived by his son, Artie Ahlsted and wife Jackie of Suffolk; and daughter, Nicki Hicks of Chesapeake; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 27, in Kempsville Baptist Church, 5204 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462-6309, (757) 499-5457. Burial to follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park.
