He belonged to St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
On November 9, 1974 he was married to Peggy Timmerman in Fremont. They were blessed with two children.
Richard Metschke was employed by Geo. A. Hormel & Co. meatpacking company, and also performed automotive and commercial refrigeration services.
Mr. Metschke died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Friday, April 1, 1988 at his home at 2063 Fairacres Drive, Fremont, Nebraska.
Survivors include his wife; parents; son Richard Jr. of Fremont; daughter Elisa of Fremont; two brothers: Mark, Des Moines, Iowa; David, Fremont.
Funeral services for Richard A. Metschke, 32, of, Fremont, Nebraska will be 3 p.m. April 4, 1988 at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, Nebraska. The Rev. Dana Mark of St. Timothy Lutheran Church will conduct the service. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Memorials in his name are suggested to be given to St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
