Edna Winnifred (Toner) Kuhn Weaver, 93, of Bad Axe, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility. She was the oldest of three daughters born to William and Lula (Hall) Toner on Oct. 15, 1921.

The family lived in the Kinde area, where the Toner girls attended several of the local area country schools. Edna married Harry Kuhn on April 26, 1946, in Port Austin. He passed away on Sept. 24, 1971. Edna married Frances Weaver on April 22, 1976, in Caseville. He passed away on July 5, 1978.

Edna was a store clerk at the Polewach Store in Bad Axe for many years. She also touched many young lives as a foster grandparent for the George E. Greene Elementary School.

Edna is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Paul Humphrey of Filion, and a daughter, Lu Toner of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Gertrude Schenk of Bad Axe and sister-in-law, Harriet Detrick of Caseville; and many nieces and nephews.

Edna was preceded in death by a sister, Georgina Running; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert Running, Joseph Schenk, Frank Kuhn, Bill and Clara Kuhn, Jerry Kuhn, Charlotte Kuhn, Mary and Bud Lupinski, Stella Kuhn and Ed and Mildred Kraft.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at the Bad Axe First United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Phil Tousley, pastor. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be offered to the Bad Axe First United Methodist Church.
