She was born on May 2, 1931 in Kiel, WI a daughter of Rev. Ernst and Elfrieda Kionka Behm. She was married by her father on Easter Sunday to Richard N. Albert on March 25, 1951 in Kiel, WI. He passed away on October 4, 2007. She then married Dr. William Fleming on June 10, 2010 in Bloomington, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Eric (Julie) Albert; one daughter, Kristin (David) Burke both of Bloomington, IL; her step children, Dr. Gini (Robert Hallman) Fleming of Chicago, IL; Patrick (Maddy) Fleming of Lake Elmo, MN; Donald (Libby Hannah) Fleming of Seattle, WA; Mark (Dara) Fleming; Mollie (Rob) Benedict both of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Kara (Brad) Holthaus, Todd Albert, Katie (Rick) Mostowski, Kelley (Wesley) Graves, Jennifer Fernandes, and great-grandson , Lincoln Albert Holthaus.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted and Harold; and one sister, Dorothy Reim.
Catherine began her employment as a teacher in a one room school house in Wisconsin and retired in 1992 as the secretary to the CEO of OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. She, along with her husband Bill, enjoyed traveling and playing games, especially gin rummy and bridge. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Rev. Thomas Wirsing will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5-7 pm at the church. Burial will be in East Lawn Memory Gardens in Bloomington. Kibler Brady Ruestman Memorial Home is assisting her family with arrangements
