Brian E. Colbert, 23, a lifelong resident of Hampstead, NH, died early Sunday morning following injuries sustained in a car accident in Candia, NH. Born in Melrose, MA, son of Michael D. and Kim E. (Mansfield) Colbert, Brian attended Hampstead public schools and graduated from Pinkerton Academy with the Class of 2009. Brian was a four year member of the Varsity Golf Team and holds the record for lowest 9 hole round in school history. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from the University of New Hampshire graduating in 2014 and was a member of the club golf league. Brian also competed in the National Collegiate Club Golf Association Tournament in his junior and senior years of college. Brian was most recently employed at Durham House of Pizza and had also been employed as an event coordinator for Taylor Made Golf Company. An avid Patriots, Bruins, and UNH Hockey fan, Brian was a summer counselor for the Hampstead Recreation Department and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was also an All Star baseball player for the town of Hampstead and competed at Cooperstown Dream Park with the New Hampshire Blue Jays in 2002. He is survived by his parents, Michael D. and Kim E. (Mansfield) Colbert, a brother, Kevin M. Colbert, and a sister, Meaghan E. Colbert, all of Hampstead, his paternal grandmother, Edith (Carlton) Colbert of Salem, MA, his girlfriend, Chelsea M. Demers of Manchester, NH, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. A private funeral service will take place on Saturday. Relatives and friends are invited to a Reception and Celebration of Life on Saturday at 12 noon at Atkinson Country Club, 85 Country Club Drive, Atkinson, NH 03811.
