SAN ANGELO — George Allen Poulter went to his eternal home to be with the Lord at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006.
George was born Sept. 11, 1921, in Ardmore, Okla., to Charles T. Poulter and Lorena Wall Poulter. He moved to San Angelo with his family at the age of 6. He lived in San Angelo his entire life. After graduating from San Angelo High School he attended San Angelo Junior College and transferred to Texas A&M. He went into the Army Air Corps in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945.

Upon his return to civilian life, he became partners with his father and brother C.J. Poulter. He operated Poulters Abstract Co. for 55 years. He married Margaret Louise Rector on Aug. 26, 1955.

George was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

He is survived by his brother, C.J. Poulter and his wife, Marinell; his sister, Joan Cozby and husband Curtis; and two nieces and two nephews.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in Fairmount Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Donald Boyd Cox and James Burns.

Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church of San Angelo or your favorite charity.

Pallbearers will be Donald Boyd Cox, James Burns, Leroy Harris, David Samuelson, David Harlow and Randy Rector. Honorary pallbearers are Grady Harlow, L.C. Harlow, Deanna Palacios, Judi Lutez, Bob Raney, Jim Johnson, Wilmer Gulley, Kenneth Hemphill, Rudy Wallace and C.C. Hoester.
