Born in Widen, W.V. on Aug. 4, 1941, son of the late James G. and Tressie (Triplett) Adkins. He resided in Meriden since 1961, and had attended schools in West Virginia. Mr. Adkins was employed by Alleghany Ludlum – Wallingford Steel. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the MASA softball league, the North Italian-American Club and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden. Burial with military honors will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
