Albany - Donald E. Julian, Jr., 68, of Albany, GA, died Friday, February 12, 2016.
His memorial service will be at 11 AM on Monday, February 15, 2016 at Kimbrell-Stern. The Rev. Scott Stanfill will officiate. The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Monday beginning at 10 AM until the funeral hour.
Mr. Julian was born in Albany, and graduated from Albany High School in the Class of 1965. He attended Georgia Southwestern, and worked for Georgia Farm Bureau as a claims adjuster for 36 years, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Albany First United Methodist Church. Mr. Julian was a Past President of the Albany Claims Association, and he was a former member of the Albany Elks Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Eugene Julian and Emmie Loyless Julian, and a son, Tyler Shemwell.
Mr. Julian is survived by his wife: Cindy Julian, Albany; his children: Donald E. Julian, III ( Rachel), Athens, GA, Laura Mays (Mike), Warner Robins, GA, Tonya Maddox (Denny), Warner Robins, GA, Foy Shemwell (Amanda), Albany; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; a brother: Steve M. Julian (Susan), Port St. Joe, FL; nieces and nephews; his beloved dog Jentry.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Children’s Ministry at First United Methodist Church, 307 Flint Ave., Albany, GA 31701, or to the Albany Humane Society, 1705 Oakridge Dr., Albany, GA 31707.
