May was the daughter of Jerome 'Bud' Shacklee & Martha Susan (Williams) Shacklee. We do not know anything of Mr. Eckel. They did have a daughter, Nillie Mae who was born in about 1904 and died in about 1911.

I remember Mae as Richard "Riley" Cohoon's house keeper as they lived in the 'yellow' house on West Main Street in Vandalia, IL. I was told they were cousins. My dad was very sick in 1945-46 and we lived with them for a time.
