Aletha Mariette Bennett (nee Wilcox) was born in Mankato, Kansas. She moved to California as a child. After graduating from San Francisco State in 1938, she began her career as an elementary school teacher. In 2001 she moved from Saratoga to Kennewick, WA.
Thomas Bennett, her husband, predeceased her in 1997. She is survived by her children John Bennett (Connie) and Kathleen Kerley (Joseph), 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sisters Leona White and Tressa Hendricksen, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at noon on Monday, Feb. 1 at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
