...Billie Lou Nelson, 78, departed this life on January 15, 2016, at her daughter's home in Texas City, TX. Billie was born December 21, 1937 in Plainview, TX to Robert "Louie" and Willie Alice Ritter Rawdon. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1956 and went on to college at West Texas State, where she graduated in 1959. She married James David JIM Nelson on August 28, 1959. She was a senior English teacher in Arlington, TX from 1977 to 1987 and finished her career at Klein Oak High School in Spring, TX, retiring in 1999. She is survived by her husband, Jim Nelson and two sisters: Peggy Jean Long of Dumas, TX, and Joe Anne Graham of Montrose, CO. Her legacy will live on in her two children Kelley Leigh Nelson Chupp (Stephen), and Robert David Nelson (Tamara). Also left to cherish her memory are her two foster children, Jenny Trunk Finley and Kevin Trunk, seven grandchildren (Nathan, Nataleigh, Benjamin, Hunter, Sadie, Emma and Kallee), and two great grandchildren (Bryleigh and Joshua). She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, beloved brother Donald Marvin Rawdon, and dear aunt Burnice Rawdon. Billie and Jim Nelson and their children were long time members of Bammel Road Church of Christ in far North Houston for many years which is where I got to know her thru Ladies' Events and Activities....I will miss her ! ....rest in peace friend....
