They were married June 19, 1955 and recently celebrated their fifty-seventh wedding anniversary. She was involved with the Orange Belt Saddle Club, Jr. Women's Club, PTA, an MHS band parent, and was the 1953 Senior Princess of the Veteran's Homecoming Court. She worked at Bullard's Department Store and was the bookkeeper at Shell Oil Company for fifteen years.
Barbara had three children, Sherry, Brent, and Lori. She always found time to help them with homework, support their sporting events, the Porterville Twirlerettes, and attend their school functions. There was no greater joy to her than her family, friends, her Pekingese "Missy", the Raiders, Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr.
Although she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1979, she never complained and continued her journey with courage and grace. She became bedridden in 1987, yet still had a smile on her face whenever she had visits from her family, grandchildren, and friends. She had the most generous, kind heart, and was honest and loyal to all she knew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Sherry Gail Quiram.
There will be a viewing at Myers from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, November 8, 2012. Graveside service at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 1:00pm and luncheon to follow at Trinity Lutheran Church, 764 W. Henderson, Porterville.
