James W. Reed, age 91, died at 1:08 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Claremore Veterans center in Claremore, OK. James was born November 17, 1924 in Bonita, Texas in Montague County to Isom F. and Elva (Watson) Reed.

James graduated from high school in Flomot, Texas in 1942. James entered into the United States Army on May 28, 1946 and received his honorable discharge on May 22, 1947. James married Evelyn Kimmel on August 31, 1947 in Happy, Texas making their home in Motley County, Texas. James lived most his life in Texas and Oklahoma. James was a farmer all his life. James was an avid coyote hunter. James was dedicated to his extended family up until age 90 he never missed a reed family reunion attended 65 up until last year.

James was preceded in death by his mother and father, two sisters: Elizabeth McDonald and Juanita Goins and by one son: David L. Reed.

James is survived by his three children: James Wesley Reed Jr., Rebecca F. Reed and Molly E. Davis and husband Mike daughter-in-law Renee Reed, four brothers: EG Reed, Cecil Reed, Leo Reed and George Reed, one sister: Alma Monk, ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Reed Cemetery in Saint Jo, Texas with Rev. Jim Stratton, officiating. Interment will follow in the Reed Cemetery.
