Tacie Louise Emerson Downs, 79, of Buchanan Dam, Texas, passed away Oct. 26, 1936. She was born to George and Lonnie (Blades) Emerson on Oct. 12, 1936, in Walters, Oklahoma.

Tacie attended and volunteered at many churches in the Texas Hill Country and enjoyed sewing, painting landscapes, flower gardening, fishing, walking, traveling and listening to Western bands when they would come to Llano.

She is survived by her loving husband, Glenn, who had been by her side as her caregiver; sons, Wendell Brooks and wife Barbara of Burnet and Doug Brooks and wife Sara of Kingsland; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisterSusie West and husband Roger of McGregor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Delores McDaniel, Dorothy Pool and Pat Rutherford; and brothers, Walter Emerson, Roy Emersonand Bob Emerson.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Oct. 27 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland. A funeral service is 10 a.m. Oct. 28 at the Cross and Spurs Cowboy Church, 100 Lillian Dean in Buchanan Dam.
