After 1945 the family moved to Paducah, where Duffy raised three children. Duffy worked a motor-grader for Cottle County Precinct 3 for Shanks Walker. Duffy married Marie Branson in 1961 and became fondly know as "Papaw" to to his grand children. He continued to be a cowboy and farmer when he was not fishing.
