Irene E. Marks, 98, a lifetime Hanna resident passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at home with her family. She was born April 25, 1917 in Hanna to Ora and Clara (Doll) Werner and graduated from Hanna High School in 1935. Irene was proud to be a career farm wife working alongside her husband Oliver. She was a member of Hanna Methodist Church and maintained a variety of activities with a host of friends throughout every decade of her life.
On October 9, 1937 she married H. Oliver Marks, who preceded her in death in 1984. Survivors include their daughters: Maralee (Bill) Wherrett of Union Mills and Reathel (Paul) Noveroske, Sr. of LaPorte; four grandchildren: Wylynn Kutch, Tom Wherrett, Dace Cunningham, Ranell Tennyson; three step-grandchildren: Jennifer Kubaszyk, Carri Menefee, Paul Noveroske, Jr., 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Per Irene's wishes, a committal service will be held Friday, November 27, 2015 at 12 Noon at Hanna Cemetery with a luncheon to follow immediately at Hanna Methodist Church. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
