Passed away in Petaluma, CA., June 26, 2006. Born July 27, 1922 in Macedonia, Iowa to Terry and Nora Guyer. She married Richard Hendrix on Oct. 14, 1939 and the couple moved to California. The couple first worked on local chicken and dairy ranches. Marjorie's first job in Petaluma was working for 25 cents an hour at a local laundry. Always living in Petaluma, the couple started their family and later she worked for Bundesens Hatchery and later her favorite job was working in the cafeteria at Kenilworth Junior High School. Ill health forced her to retire. She loved to garden and cook. She was an expert on baking cookies and made the best potato salad ever. Her children's fondest childhood memories of their Mother playing the guitar and Dad playing the mandolin and harmonica. She loved singing that good old country music and could out yodel some of the best. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hendrix and her beloved grandson, Brian David Turner. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Guyer, Paul Guyer, Marvin Guyer, Gertrude Zanders, Ruth Spangenberg, Gladys Scherbring, Phyllis Schoenthal and Mary Moore. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Nunes (Ernie) and her son, David Hendrix. Grandmother of Michael Turner (Adrienne), Gregory Hendrix and Dustin Hendrix. Step grandmother of Amy Luiz (Eric) and Karen Hermsmeyer (Marc). Great grandmother of Kayla Hendrix and step great grandmother of Hannah and Ava Luiz and Tyler Hermsmeyer. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family wish to express a very special "thank you" to Marjorie's dear friend, Donna Moe, who would talk with Mom every night for 15 years, and for her caregiver, Naomi, who is an angel in disguise. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, June 28,2006 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Petaluma, CA. Private interment will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. The family prefers memorials be made to Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford, 770 Welch Rd., Suite 350, Palo Alto, CA 94304 or to your favorite charity.
