Lois Branson, youngest daughter of Beulah (née Painter) and Robert Branson, was born about 1810 in Highland County, Ohio, where her father was an early entryman. Lois was named after her father's sister.

Lois Branson and John Holman were married on 13 July 1833 in Greene County, Ohio. The birthplaces of children reported in censuses indicate the Holman family moved to Indiana between 1834 and 1837, and in 1840 the John Holman household was enumerated in Delaware County, Indiana. John Holman died from fever in August 1849 in Delaware County. The following year, Lois Holman was enumerated erroneously as "Louis" Holman, a male head of household, together with her six children, plus Wilson Holman (possibly a step-son).

Lois "Holeman" and John Redpath were married on 25 September 1851 in Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana. Lois Redpath appears to have been widowed by 1860, when she was enumerated as the head of household.* Her name is on an 1863 Delaware County deed. The date and place of her death, and her place of burial, are unknown. She appears to have died before 1870.
