She was born in Chazy, NY, the daughter of the late William and Delia LaPointe Beshaw.
Irene was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Albany.
She was the beloved wife of the late Martin Abare and the sister of the late Jennie Falco, Elizabeth Sourdiff, Alice Delligan, Lillian Jacobs, Marjorie Cootware, Marilyn Gagnier and William Beshaw, Jr.
She was the mother of Wayne Delligan of Delmar and Eilean Hoffmeister of Guilderland; mother-in-law of Mary McCurdy Delligan and Victor Hoffmeister; grandmother of Gena Delligan, Holly Hoffmeister, Thomas and Wayne Delligan, Jr.; great-grandmother of James Martin.
She was the sister of Theresa Ashline of Watervliet, Clara Davis of Albany and Mildred Pierce of Whittier, CA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8:30 a.m. Tuesday from Zwack and Sons, 633 Central Avenue, Albany and 9:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Central Avenue, Albany, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angel's Cemetery, Colonie.
Relatives and friends are also invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
