Kenneth W. Brown, 73, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Hock Family Pavilion. Mr. Brown was born in Burlington, the son of the late Robert Erskine Brown and Zelma Lee Crabtree Brown. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Brown. Prior to retirement, Mr. Brown was the Chief Animal Control Officer for Orange County local government. He also was a funeral assistant at Clements Funeral Home in Hillsborough for several years.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Dianne Borland Brown of Hurdle Mills; sons, Travis Brown and wife Naomi of Hillsborough, Todd Brown of Hurdle Mills; sisters, Peggy Davis of Yanceyville, Judy Martin and husband Rabian of Hurdle Mills, Nancy Bryson and husband Lloyd of Hurdle Mills, Cathy Barefield of Conyers, GA; grandchildren, Christy Brown Johnson, Samantha Brown, Nikolas Brown, Jordan Brown; and great-grandchildren, Christian Johnson, and Arianna Johnson.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, at Faith Baptist Church in Roxboro, with Pastor Ron Pruitt and Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Brown will lie in state at Clements Funeral Home in Hillsborough Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. where friends are invited to come for viewing and to sign the memorial book. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at Faith Baptist Church.
