MANTACHIE – Mitchell Lamar Ratliff, 72, died Friday October 16, 2015, at his home in Mantachie. He was born July 17, 1943, in Lee County to Velmer and Ruby Ratliff. He was a Baptist. He was a lifelong resident of Mantachie. He was well known for his work in the upholstering business. He enjoyed playing his guitar for his family and had a special love for his grandkids and great-grandkids. He also loved mowing his yard.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. today, October 18, 2015, at Fawn Grove Freewill Baptist Cemetery with Bro. Terry Booker officiating.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Ratliff; four daughters, Sharon (Perry) Franks, Laura (Jeff) Heitger, Tina (Nikki) Cooper, and Paulette (Randy) Hopkins; two sons, Steven and Mitchell Ratliff; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
