Jean Madison Wycoff Coverdale died September 10, 2015 at her home in Bowling Green.
She was born on November 10, 1924 to Maurice Lear Wycoff and Kathryn Noel Wycoff of Washington County KY who preceded her in death.
She graduated RN from St. Anthony School of Nursing in Louisville, KY. She served in the Civilian Nurse Corp until the end of World War II.
She married Dr. Keith Merrill Coverdale in 1947, moved with his Naval career and helped him establish a Pediatric practice in Bowling Green in 1955. She retired from nursing to raise a growing family. Dr. Coverdale preceded her in death in 2013 following 65 years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Wade Webb.
She is survived by four children; Dr. Janice Coverdale (Dr. Louis Schroeder) of Marshall, NC, David Coverdale of Bowling Green, Jane Ann Coverdale Bradford of Newburgh, IN, and Meg Coverdale Webb of Bowling Green.
She is survived by a sister, Louella Wycoff Stewart (Hugh) of Mayfield, KY and a first cousin, Mary Margaret Wycoff Gruszka (Jim) of Naples, FL.
There will be a memorial service celebrating the life of Jean Coverdale at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 19 in the sanctuary of The Presbyterian Church of Bowling Green at 1003 State St., where she was a member. Her cremains will be placed in the columbarium of the church next to those of her husband.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel.
