For Dr. W. Allen NACOGDOCHES –------Funeral services for Dr. Walter B. Allen 60, of Nacogdoches are set for 11 a.m. Friday at the Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev
Mike Macoy and the Rev. Bill Kegler officiating burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Olson-Monk Funeral Home in Nacogdoches.
Dr. Allen died Thursday at his residence after a long illness. He had lived in Nacogdoches since 1946 and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, the American Medical Association and the Nacogdoches County Medical Society. Formally Dr. Allen was the chief of staff of Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches and was past president
of the Nacogdoches County Medical Society. Dr. Allen was a Cpt. in the Army during World War II. Serving from July 1, 1942 to May 2, 1946. Survivors include his wife,
Mrs. Virginia Danforth Allen of Nacogdoches; two sons, Dan Allen and Barton Allen,
both of Dallas; one daughter, Miss Molly Allen of Dallas. Pallbearers will be James A.
Kingham, Ben Covin, Morris Muckleroy, Doug Swearingen, Joe Wright, Robert Kline,
Charles Bright, Travis Hughes, Carl Harris, and Jerry Alexander. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of the Nacogdoches County Medical Society and the Chief of the surgical staff of Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches.
