Daniel B. Abraham, 79, of Limington and formerly of Waterboro, died Aug. 29 at Togas Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was born in Baltimore, Md. on Jan. 6, 1927, a son of Daniel K. and Marjorie Collins Clisby.
He graduated from George Washington High School in New York City. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Navy. On June 27, 1959, he married Josefa B. Miller in Bath.
He was a tool and die maker, working for many companies in the eastern United States. He then worked as a salesman, selling yachts and mobile homes, and as a precision mechanical inspector for Sullivan and Cogliano Company of Waltham, Mass. for 15 years, and Costar Corporation of Kennebunk for six years. He retired in 1991.
He was a skilled woodcarver known in the mid-coast area as the Edgecomb Woodcarver. He specialized in decorative wood ducks. He also enjoyed sewing, square dancing, and raising orchids.
He was a member of Lincoln Masonic Lodge in Wiscasset and Kora Temple in Lewiston.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years; two daughters, Martha S. and husband Robert Hamblin of Augusta, Wis. and Peggy C. and husband Mark Carlton of Nashua, N.H.; and three grandchildren, Jeremy M., Michelle K., and Joshua E. Carlton, all of Nashua, N.H.
Funeral services will be private. Interment will take place at North Edgecomb Cemetery, Edgecomb.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
