Benton - We are gathered here today to pay our last respects to our wife, mother, and friend Ida Overturf. Ida Adeline Wiggins was the daughter of Jesse and Adeline Wiggins and was born Feb 27, 1877 in Saline County, Ill., and departed this life Nov. 9, 1954. At the time of her death she was 77 years, 8 months and 12 days old. On Dec. 6, 1896 she was united in marriage to Jasper Newton Overturf who survives. To this union were born eight children, five of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Calvin Ira and James Arnold and one daughter, Mrs. Helen DeStefano, all of Benton; two grandson, Jack Richard Overturf of Centralia, IL. and Jesse Acuff of Benton; one granddaughter, Judith Overturf of Benton, and one great grandchild , Richard Lee Overturf, of Centralia. She is also survived by one brother, W.C. Wiggins of West Frankfort, one sister, Meda Tate of Galatia, besides a host of other relatives and friends who will grieve at the loss of her passing. The deceased was a member of the First Christian Church of Christopher, and a member of the Rebekah Lodge 238. She had been ill for several years. She was a devoted wife and mother. A precious one from us is gone, a voice we loved is still, A place is vacant in our home, That never can be filled.
