Luella E. Adam, 84, of Thornton, Colo., formerly of Fremont, died Sunday, May 27, 2001, in Thornton.
Luella Netz was born Aug. 14, 1916, in Barnston. She married Walter F. Adam on April 9, 1939, in Gothenburg. She grew up in southeastern Nebraska. She attended the Teachers College in Kearney and taught in a one-room school outside of O'Dell. Later, she attended Cornhusker Beauty College in Fremont. She owned and operated her own beauty salon in Fremont for many years.
She was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church, a member of the care and share group, served as a Sunday school teacher for many years and helped with AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) club and Mission Builders Group.
Survivors include: three sons, Leon (and wife, Barbara) Adam of Westminster, Colo., Noel (and wife, Nancy) Adam of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and Doug (and wife, Becky) Adam of Overland Park, Kan.; a sister, Helena Knabe of Wymore; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister and an infant brother.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Avalon Funeral Home in Lafayette, Colo.
A memorial has been established to the Open Door Mission in Omaha.
