Georgia Abrams, age 93, of New Castle, passed away Saturday morning, July 4th, 2015 at the Heritage House Convalescent and Rehab Center in New Castle following an illness. She was born September 12th, 1921 in Batyville, Ky. and was the daughter of the late Banford and Bessie (Garrett) Johnson.
She retired and had owned and operated Georgia’s Vacuum, Sales and Repair since 1958 after 27 years of service. She was a past member of Business and Professional Women’s club.
Georgia is survived by three children including, Glen (wife-Elizabeth) Abrams, Barbara (husband- Rev. Lane) Fairchild, Larry (wife-Lisa) Abrams all of New Castle; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Coleen Gray of Richmond, In., Edith Lunsford of Connersville, In; Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Arlie and Oren Abrams; one sister, Janie and three brothers.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 6th, 2015 at the Hacker – Main & Davis Funeral Home, New Castle Broad St. Chapel with Rev. Lane Fairchild officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery – Westlawn addition. Friends may call Monday 10:00 a.m. – 11:00am at the funeral home.
