Obituary–Mary L. Reichter, age 90, of Richmond, died Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Reid Hospital. Born July 15, 1924, in Richmond, Indiana, to Harry A. and Louise A. Schneidwind Gibbs, she was a life-long resident of Richmond. Mary was a loving and caring person who provided a foster home for over 2000 children, beginning in 1947. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Richmond and the Foster Home Association. Mary received the Governor’s Foster Care Award.

Survivors include eight daughters and four sons-in-law; two sons and a daughter-in-law; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Audry Reichter who died on October 28, 2009; a son, Gary Reichter; three daughters, Darla Firth, Duresa Denney and Catherine Osborne; and one brother, Louis E. Gibbs.

Visitation for Mary L. Reichter will be from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
