Mrs. Nora Jane Ramsey, 66, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. A. Maxwell in Ennis Saturday. She was the mother of Mrs. Thomas H. Champion of Waxahachie.
She was born in Winterrowd, IL, Aug 3, 1874, and came to Texas with her parents when one year old and had lived in the Garrett community ever since.
Fifty years ago she married Joe Ramsey. She had been a member of the Garrett Church of Christ for the past 50 years and was a devoted member.
Surviving are her husband, Joe Ramsey of Garrett, two daughters, Mrs. Maxwell of Ennis and Mrs. Champion of Waxahachie; a son Claude Ramsey of Garrett; one brother and two sisters; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mrs. Ramsey had been ill but a few days.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Church of Christ in Ennis. Burial followed in Myrtle Cemetery. The minister was Ivan Winterrowd. Pallbearers were: Will Merritt, Andy Ray, Ossie Onstead, Olin Eason, Dave Horn, A. E. Ramsey.
