MANKATO -- Former North Mankato resident Gertrude C. Kelly, 95, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 1994, at Hillcrest Health Care Center, Mankato.

Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato, the Rev. Ed Ardolf officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Landkamer's Johnson-Boman Funeral Home, Mankato, with an 8 p.m. prayer service.

Mrs. Kelly was born April 30, 1899, to Edward E. and Catherine T. (Eiselt) Hager in Blue Earth. She graduated from Blue Earth High School and in 1918 graduated from Good Counsel Academy. She worked as a stenographer for five years for Standard Oil Co. She married George H. Kelly on Oct. 17, 1923. She was a charter member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a charter member of Catholic Daughters of America, first President of Holy Rosary Sodality, Past President of Good Counsel Alumni Association. She was active in volunteer organizations. She was a Red Cross worker during World War II and was active in Bloodmobile for 30 years. She was chair of the Nicollet County Cancer Unit for 22 years, and served on the State Board of the Cancer Society. She also was a member of Mankato House Nursing Home Auxiliary.

She is survived by one son-in-law; Cletus O'Dowd of Big Lake; one daughter-in-law, Mary F. Kelly of North Mankato; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968; one son; one daughter; and one sister.
