The Dalles Chronicle May 5, 1983 - ROY B FRENCH - Roy B French, 61, a resident of The Dalles since 1953, died May 4 at a local nursing home.
He was born June 7, 1921 in Portland.
Mr French served in the Air Corps of the U.S. Army in World War II and worked as a heavy equipment operator in the constrution field until he retired because of health reasons.
He was a member of the Gateway Presbyterian Church, Wasco Masonic Lodge No. 15, where he was a past master and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Survivers include his wife Madeline. The Dalles; two daughters, Mrs Tony (Carrie) Repasky, Portland, and Rae Noelle French, The Dalles; a brother, Bert, Portland; and two sisters, Ethal Willard, Otter Rock and Ruth French, Roseburg.
Private burial services were held in the veteran's Section of Parklawn Cemetery on Thursday. Memorial services will be at Gateway Presbyterian Church on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James Hazlett officiating. Spencer Libby & Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Gateway Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
