Curtis Maurice Jr. was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Curtis Maurice Brown Sr. and Jo Betsy Graham Brown. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 17 and served for five years. After serving his country, Curtis enrolled at TSTI and earned a degree in Paint and Body work. He made this his profession for 40 years. Curtis loved to play his guitar and write music, as well as, being an avid outdoorsman and hunter.
He instilled in his children to have a reverence for God, respect for their elders, strong work ethic and the importance of serving others. He was selfless and ambitious in everything that he did. He was humble and grateful for everything he had. He was wise and patient with his advice and delivered it with a gentle loving voice. There was nothing he wouldn't do for those he loved. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Luv Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Deborah "Debbie" Kay Brown Debbie; sons: James Curtis Brown and wife, Stacy, Joe Bob Brown, and Chris McCurdy; daughter, Stacey Lynch and husband, Brad; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Ronnie Brown and wife, Charlotte; sister, Jaime Smith and husband, Ray; other relatives and many friends.
