Benjamin was born in Scotland, his father who was also called Benjamin John Askew married Janet Renwick in about 1893. They had 3 children Ben the eldest Robert B 1896 & John in 1898 they lived in Glasgow. Their mother died in 1901 at about age 32. The two elder boys Benjamin 9 & Robert Renwick 8 left Liverpool on board the Bavarian bound for quebec, Canada. They were part of a Mr. Drummonds party of 19 boys who were not from the workhouse & 7 boys from the workhouse. Ben migrated down to the US and gained citizenship in the early 1900. He worked various jobs in Holyoke. He died young at age 49 in 1944. He left a wife Mildred Irene Moore (they married in 1917) and 3 sons Loyal B both B 1920, Lloyd G born 1920 (not sure if they were twins) & Benjamin John Askew Jr. B 1926. Benjamin served his country in WWI serving as a Private E Company, 347th Infantry. His brother Robert also migrated to the US, and also lived in MA. His youngest brother John seemingly died in the UK. It is unknow if the boys ever met again once they left the UK.
