Leona Upshaw Mrs. Leona Smith Upshaw, 99, of Cartersville, widow of the late Garland F. Upshaw, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Cartersville Heights.Born January 16, 1913 in Huntsville, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Robert J. Smith and the late Lula Belle Erwin Smith. Mrs. Upshaw was a member of First Congregational Methodist. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and 4 sisters.Survivors include her daughters, Betty Riggins of Augusta, and Nancy Upshaw of Cartersville; granddaughters, Robin Howard and her husband James, Kim Newcomb and her husband Mike, and Pat Miller and her husband Glen; 4 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; dear friend, Donna Avalos and her husband Jose.Funeral Services will be held at the graveside on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Sunset Memory Gardens with The Reverend Wayne Rice officiating
