CENOTAPH
Started the Texas Grove United Baptist Church (Now the Delafield Missionary Baptist Church) where what is now the Myers Curve. The church is now located in Delafield .

He fought for the Union during the civil war in the 6th Reg. Illinois Cavalry

Henry had originally planned to be buried next to his wife, Sarah, at Blooming Grove. His monument still stands there without a death date etched.

Born July 9, 1846 Newton Co., Mo. died Jan 31, 1917 home in Dahlgren. Moved to Wayne Co. as a child Parents died in 1858; he made home with Robert Williams near Delafield. Civil War Co. H. 6th Ill Cav. Married Miss Sarah E. Echols Apr 11 1866 she died in 1904 10 children. 4 survive William, Delafield, Edward Mt. Vernon; Charley Dahlgren; Algie Opdyke. Married Miss Susan E. Van Norman, Peoria Co., Il. Ordained minister in 1870. Leaves widow 4 sons; 3 sisters Mrs. S. S. Talbert, Sims; Mrs. Jannie Stanton, Canon City Colo.; Mrs. Mahala Harris, Earle Ark. 1 half brother Wash. Cravens, Johnsonville. Interred I. O. O. F. Dahlgren
