TIMES LEADER July 7, 1902

John W. Daily died at his home in Belle City Wednesday morning,
July 23, aged 72 years. The son of Anderson and Susan Daily, the deceased was long a resident of this
city, where he was known and respected by everybody. He was the father
of Capt. Milton Daily of Chicago, Mrs. Julia Proctor of California
Douglas W. Daily, Mrs. A. J. Guilland, Mrs. Hiram Lambert and Mrs.
Ada Edwards of this city and county. The deceased was a soldier
of the Civil war, serving his country faithfully as a member of
Co. D, 6th Illinois Cavalry. Interment takes place at Blooming
Grove today and will be under the auspices of the Great Army post
of this city. A large number from here are attending the funeral.
Mr. Daily was a high minded honorable man and his death is deeply
deplored by a large circle of relatives and friends.
