He was a native of Cleveland County, son of the late "C.E." and Blanche Moss Allen.

Mr. Billy Gene Allen, 69, of Grover, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at Hospice at Wendover.
Born in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late C.E. and Blanche Moss Allen.
A self-employed truck driver, he had served in the Army in the Korean conflict. He belonged to Allen Memorial Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty Hardin Allen of the home; two sons and their wives, Ricky Gene Allen and Joyce of Fountain Inn, S.C., and Timmy Mark Allen and Dena of Kings Mountain; a brother and his wife, James F. and Shirley Allen of Grover; a sister and her husband, Carlene Allen Enfinger and Phil of Augusta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Shane Allen and his wife, Leanne, of Lakenheath Air Base, Cambridgeshire, England, Jenna Allen Ross and her husband, Garvis, of Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, and Tyler Mark Allen of Kings Mountain; six great-grandchildren, Judah, Allahia and Isabella Allen and Keegan, Anthony and Athena Ross.
The funeral will be at Allen Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
