Palmi O. Ingvarsson (1927-2011)

Palmi "Paul" Ingvarsson, 83 of Edmonds, WA passed away May 11, 2011.

He was a loving father, grandfather and good friend to so many.

He was born in Iceland on August 15, 1927, the son of Ingvar Palmason and Fridrika Sigurdsdottir.

Palmi earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Washington in their School of Fisheries and Quality Control and Marketing. He went on to Harvard to earn his MBA. Following his graduation from Harvard, he returned to Iceland and spent several years in Reykjavik as a production manager before moving to New York to help expand the market for Icelandic products.

He became a UN Diplomat traveling abroad to many countries, setting up an education institute for fishing; teaching them how to be more efficient in their fishing industries. He retired in Edmonds to be near his son and grandchildren.

Palmi is survived by his children, Ingvar (Connie) Ingvarsson, of Roy, WA and Soffia (Gisli Kristjansson) Palmadottir of Norway; eight grandchildren, Mindy (Dale), Jessica, Bjorg, Palmi, Jon, Kristjana, Ingibjorg and Saerun; four great grandchildren; his brother Sigurdur; and sister Audur both of Iceland.

At Palmi's request, there will be no services.
