Gerald Walter LaValley was born June 23, 1927, in Foreston, Minn. His parents were the late Oliver and Josephine (Stearn) LaValley.
Gerald's lifes work included operating heavy equipment and driving semi over the road. He was also a skilled mechanic and loved to work on cars. Gerald enjoyed, horses, singing and playing guitar, traveling and visiting family and friends.
While life's travels took him to many places, he considered International Falls, Minn., to be his home town.
On Jan. 15, Gerald passed away at the Perham Memorial Hospital, Perham, Minn., at 80 years of age.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Preceding Gerald in death were his parents and his brothers and sisters, Edward LaValley, Ida Johnson, Clara Neumiller, and twins, Carl LaValley and Dolly Kirvan.
Gerald is survived by his daughters, Jeanne Miller and Mona Bolinske; sons, Donald (Kathryn) LaValley and Jim (Mary) LaValley; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Arrangements were provided by Karvonen & Son Funeral Home, New York Mills.
