Mr. Madlock spent his early childhood working on a farm and attended school at Falcon where he played basketball. After serving three years in the South Pacific during WWII, he moved to Hope where he owned and operated Madlock's Texaco Service Station and Wrecker Service and U-Haul, retiring at the age of 88. Mr. Madlock was of the Baptist faith and had accepted the Lord early in life, then rededicated his life recently. He loved to listen to gospel music, visiting with family and friends, especially the telling of "tall" tales.
Survivors include: son, Kenneth Madlock, wife, Patrisa Latcham, of Hope; two grandchildren: Jeffery Madlock, wife, Kimberley, of Hope and Jennifer Donalson, husband Andrew, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five great-grandchildren: Riley Madlock, Parker Ellyn Madlock, Dakota Donalson, Shawntal Donalson and Michael Donalson; a brother: George Madlock, wife Nancy, of Pine Bluff; two sisters: Viola Laha of The Woodlands, Tx and Pearl Malardier of Springhill; other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 1-3 pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Brazzel Oakcrest Funeral Home, 1001 S Main, Hope, Ar. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Charitable Christian Clinic, PO Box 374, Hope, Ar, 71802-0374.
