Thomas Jeffery “Tom” Dazey, son of the late Donald Albert and Jean Marie (Overturf) Dazey, was born June 18, 1965 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life on February 11, 2014 in Blytheville, Arkansas. He had attained the age of forty-eight years, seven months and twenty-three days. In 1973, at the age of six years old Tom moved to Van Buren from St. Louis. He grew up on the banks of Current River on the Dazey Ranch, where he learned to love nature, and being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially turkey hunting and once tagged an albino turkey. Tom loved spending time with his friends and family especially his grandchildren.
Tom worked for Nucor Steel in Blytheville, Arkansas, as a train conductor. He was a member of the Saint George Catholic Church. Survivors include one daughter, Lori Chadwell and husband, Jeremy, of Van Buren; two sons, Bradley Dazey and wife, Sherie, of Lenexa, Kan., and Eric Dazey of Van Buren; seven siblings, Josie McSpadden and husband, Bobby, of Van Buren, Laura Thomason of Washington, MO, Kevin Dazey and his wife, Tennessee, Mike Dazey and wife, Regina, John Dazey and wife, Tonya, all of Van Buren, Dean Dazey and wife, Donna, of Bolivar, MO, and Melissa Trout and husband, Rich, of Blytheville, AR; two grandchildren, Corbin Chadwell and Cora Chadwell, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who mourn his passing. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2014 in the McSpadden Funeral Home in Van Buren, MO, with the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel, Father Dan Hirtz will officiate Burial: Dazey Family Cemetery. Music: Lacy McArthur Pallbearers: Kevin, Mike John, & Dean Dazey, Stuart Reed and Ricky Gonzales.
