Lonie first appeared on the 1860 census, living in Division 37, Haywood County, North Carolina, with parents Thomas (a farmer) and Lonesome, along with siblings John [19], Elizabeth [17], Sarah [15], William [12], Mary [11], Lucinda [9] and Thomas [4]. By 1870, Thomas and Lonesome were living in Crabtree and Lonie and Nancy [7] were the only children still in the household.

By 1880, the family had moved to Jonathan Creek, with Lonie and Nancy still at home. On September 18, 1883, Lonie married Benjamin Migaman Allison in Haywood County, North Carolina.

In 1900, Lonie and Migaman remained in Jonathan Creek, and had the following children: Paralee [19](Lonie's stepdaughter), Hardin [13], Herbert [11] and Irene [4]. By 1910, they had moved to Ivy Hill, where Irene, at 14, was the only child remaining at home. In 1920, Migaman and Lonie remained in Ivy Hill, where they now lived in the household of their daughter, Irene [now Hunter] and son-in-law Dudley Hunter.
