Catherine A. Abbott, 93, formerly of 369 Montgomery Ave., died yesterday at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the widow of F. Frank Abbott.
Born in County Mayo, Ireland, a daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (McDermott) Doherty, she had lived in Providence before moving to Cranston in 1948.
She was a member of the Rhode Island Ceilidhe Club and the Eire Society of Pawtucket and was a communicant of St. Paul's Church and a member of its Senior Citizens.
She leaves a sister, Margaret McGovern of Cranston.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, St. Paul's Place. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery.
