DIED,
In Warren county, on Monday night last, at his residence on Deep Creek, after two weeks illness of dysentery, General Robert R. Johnson, in the 49th year of his age. His death may be considered as a public as well as a private one, for as a neighbor, friend and master, few men were more eminently useful, or more generally beloved. To his family, most deplorable is the calamity—seven orphan children, their tender mother having been called prematurely away some time since. We speak from grateful experience, that the lamented deceased was the kindest and most indulgent of husband's and father's, and to those left behind, his loss is irreparable. It added to the calamity, that he has left a widow to whom he had been a short time married, and many collateral objects of affectionate attachment, who will long cherish his memory and regret his death.
—Published in Raleigh Register and North-Carolina Gazette (Raleigh, North Carolina), Friday, March 23, 1827, p. 3.

Gen. Robert R. Johnson married Ann Russell on June 9, 1826, in Warren County, North Carolina. (Notice appeared in Raleigh Register on June 23, 1826.)
